Movement profiles are translated into dense visual structures, revealing how personal data accumulates into collective form.

Beauty of Privacy examines linear traces as a visual condensation of movement and action. It is based on superimposed trajectories that accumulate into complex, multilayered drawings.
The underlying data is generated through the project-specific app Freiheit 2.0, which records and aggregates users’ movement patterns. From this accumulation emerge linear structures between individual trace and collective form.
Through artistic transformation, these movement profiles develop into an autonomous visual language and form a basis for later spatial works in light and data.

Beauty of Privacy is based on movement data that participants transmitted anonymously via the smartphone app developed specifically for the art project Freiheit 2.0. Florian Mehnert transformed the individual trajectories into complex linear drawings. Individual routes remain recognizable while condensing into a collective, multilayered field of movement.
The work translates the recorded movement data into spatial projections and large-format C-prints. Direction, superimposition and condensation create an autonomous visual order in which the technical origin remains perceptible without becoming illustrative.
